ZocDoc now serves more than 1.8 million patients per month. The company’s core service lets patients quickly find doctors (who pay $300 a month to list on the service) and book appointments online or through its mobile apps. This service is free for patients via or the free ZocDoc app for the iPhone and Android. ZocDoc is available in more than 1,800 cities and covers 40 percent of the US population. By revealing the ‘hidden supply’ of appointments, ZocDoc helps patients receive faster access to care and optimizes doctors’ schedules. The company’s most recent product, ZocDoc Check-In, allows patients to fill out their paperwork online in advance of their appointment. More than 2.5 million patients use ZocDoc each month to find a nearby doctor or dentist and instantly book an appointment online. In the process, they have raised $95 million from some of the best investors in the world and have been widely recognized by Crain’s and Fortune Magazine for the terrific work culture they have built at ZocDoc. Today, Massoumi and co-founder and CTO Nic Ganju ‘08BU have successfully have achieved this vision and have taken their platform nationwide.
